本書是繼2001年湖南教育出版社出版的《語用學概論》(修訂本)之後的又一次改版本。 在此版本中作者對全書作了較大的調整,由北京大學出版社出版。新編本與前兩個版本的體例沒有變化,全書共11章,比2001年修訂本增加了章節,並對有關章節的標題和內容作了適當的調整。例如除關聯論之外,還增加了順應論、模因論等與理解語言、使用語言和詮釋語言有關的內容。隨著思維、文化因素在言語交際中的作用日益受到重視,語用學在近一二十年發展很快,在宏觀的語用學、跨學科的語用學、哲學的語用學和語言學的語用學等學科領域裏都出現了很多新的課題,本書也相應做了一些內容上的更新。本書為大專院校語言學專業(包括中文系及外語院系語言學專業)和其他文、史、哲等專業的本科生和研究生而編寫,也適用於中學漢語和外語教師、翻譯界人士以及一般語言工作者和愛好者閱讀。
