Titanic - perhaps the most famous ship ever built, and certainly the most famous shipwreck ever. Sinking four days into her maiden voyage after colliding with an iceberg, the Royal Mail Ship Titanic went down with over 1,500 of her passengers and crew. The night of 14/15 April 1912 was one of heroism, but was also one of the largest peacetime shipping disasters of all time. Published within a month of the sinking by the opportunistic LT Myers and written by the journalist Logan Marshall, The Illustrated Sinking of the Titanic tells the story of the ship and her final few hours. Often over-dramatic and inaccurate, nonetheless the book is now prized among Titanic collectors and those interested in the sinking of what was the world's largest and most luxurious ship.
