Max Murphy's mum and dad are zoologists, so they're always flying around the world to study exotic creatures in their natural habitats. And, as if that wasn't unusual enough, ever since he joined them on a trip to Africa where he drank from a stream and developed a fever, Max has had a strange power: he can transform into animals. Luckily, the effects never last more than a few hours, but that's still plenty of time for him to experience animal instincts first hand. Unfortunately for Max, his parents' sinister colleague Preston Slynk is wise to this power, and is always trying to capture and perform tests on him. Slynk's tiny insectrobot spies are never far away, and life's become a bit of a challenge for the boy who likes nothing better than being at home with a computer game and a chocolate bar...In Madagascar, Max transforms into a chameleon and helps to thwart some smugglers.
